MODERN DRILLING REVIEWS DRILLS

Modern Drilling found themselves faced with the difficult choice of staying with a product line that they relied on for nearly twenty years, but for the foreseeable future, would leave them stagnant. Or, venture into the unknown, try something new and hope for the best.

They had a choice between the Ditch Witch JT20 and the Vermeer 20x22, two of the most popular horizontal directional drills (HDD) on the market. Both machines are capable of drilling holes up to 20 inches in diameter and up to 2,000 feet long.

Initially placing an order for the Vermeer model, Modern Drilling Co. were placed on a waiting list and after some time, their place on the list was pushed back…Ditch Witch however, was able to deliver a unit quickly.

This unexpected turn of events created a house divided and set up the perfect scenario for a side by side comparison...featured here
